A Walk in the Rain
My grandfather passed away when I was only 6 years old, yet I hold such warm memories of him. He enjoyed spending lots of time with his grandchildren. My cousin remembers sled rides down the hill of our neighborhood park after a good snowfall. My fondest memory is a walk in the rain. My cousin and I on either side of our grandfather, under a huge umbrella, walking down a tree-lined path along the park.
I don't think it happens every single time, but he usually pops into my mind whenever it rains.
My mother asked me to restore this portrait of papa. I cannot wait to frame it and unveil it to her. She loves to tell stories about him, so I look forward to what stories this newly restored photograph will bring up.
I love you papa. Thank you for the sweet memories. Today, lil' one and I got caught in the rain biking from school. I thought of you.
