Apple Cider Vinegar - Beauty & Energy Booster
One of my new favorite blogs is authored by a dear friend of mine, ShoshanaSpa. I truly do look forward to her posts, because each one shares a wonderful self-care and self-pampering recipe or treatment for better health, beauty and balance. Today's tip - apple cider vinegar.
Benefits include:
~ Illness deterrent
~ Balances the bodies pH levels
~ Anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral properties
~ Rich in vitamins, minerals and trace elements including:
~ Potassium – helps to prevent brittle teeth, hair loss and runny noses
~ Pectin – helps to regulate blood pressure and reduce bad cholesterol
~ Malic Acid – anti-viral, anti-bacterial & anti-fungal
~ Calcium – helps create strong bones and teeth
~ Ash – Aids your body in maintaining proper pH levels for a healthy alkaline state
~ Acetic Acid – Slows the digestion of starch which can help to lower the rise in glucose that
commonly occurs after meals
Today, I stopped by my local Chamberlin's Natural Foods to pick up a bottle of Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar, recommended by Sho (stop by and subscribe to her blog - you won't regret it)
Recipe:
1-2 tsp raw & unfiltered apple cider vinegar - make sure to shake the bottle to get all the goodness
8 0z glass of purified water
1-2 tsp raw organic honey* (optional)
I'm starting tonight. Any apple cider vinegar advocates out there? What have your experiences been?
P. S.
Raw honey contains small amounts of a wide array of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants. Depending on the floral variety, the vitamins found in honey may include niacin, riboflavin and pantothenic acid; minerals present include calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium and zinc. Just as the color and flavor of honey varies by floral source, so does the vitamin, mineral, antioxidant and amino acid content. The antioxidant and antimicrobial properties in honey aide in cell repair. Honey is a natural energy booster - a great way to start the day. Hence, a great addition to my ACV elixir.
